NURS 210 - Fundamentals of Nursing

Fundamentals of Nursing is a foundation course that builds on the concepts of the SDA Framework for Nursing Practice. This framework defines humans as complex integrated beings with physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs and attributes. Students learn concepts basic to the art and science of nursing in a safe, legal, and ethical manner using the nursing process, critical thinking and evidence based practice.  This course introduces nursing skills needed to assist individuals in meeting basic human needs. Application of knowledge, skills and professional behavior occurs in the simulation, skills lab and healthcare facilities.Four hours of theory, two hours clinical. Lab Fee: 15 ($400).
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the School of Nursing; BIOL 101 , BIOL 102 ; CHEM 120  or CHEM 151 .
Pre- or Co-requisite: NURS 110 .
