OUTL 348 - AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course

The American Mountain Guides Association Single Pitch Instructor (AMGA SPI) Program is a nationally recognized training and certification course consisting of two parts: 1) a SPI Course and 2) a separate SPI Assessment. This program is designed to teach current, active rock climbers to proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting. Candidates should have a real desire to teach rock climbing to novices in a single pitch setting, be passionate rock climbers who regularly climb, and have been rock climbing outdoors for at least 12 months. An extended off-campus field experience up to four days is required for this course. Lab Fee: 17 ($600).
