COMM 406 - Persuasion and Propaganda (W)

This course focuses on the historical origin and contemporary uses of persuasion and propaganda, the concept of public opinion, motivational tools and techniques to achieve public response, characteristics of publics, and how publics are influenced. We will examine artifacts of popular culture, politics, advertising, and mass media through the lens of persuasion and propaganda theories, using rhetorical criticism research methods and practice.
