CPTR 427 - Network Security 3 hours
This course provides an overview to key issues and solutions for information security and privacy. Introduction to cryptography and its application to network and operating system security; security threats; applications of cryptography; secret key and public key cryptographic algorithms; hash functions; basic number theory; authentication; security for electronic mail and network scripting languages. Two hours of lecture and three hours of lab each week. Lab Fee: 10 ($210). Prerequisite(s): CPTR 328 . Recommended: CPTE 254 . WINTER, odd years
